The American Challenge team have embarked on a campaign to promote their world water speed record project. The following are some of the recent events that Russ Wicks has attended:
Indianapolis, IN (September 30, 2001) - Wicks attended the SAP United States Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as a guest of the Hulman George family.
Chicago, IL (September 28, 2001) - A quick visit to the NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway for Friday nights Top Fuel and Funny Car qualifying. Wicks witnessed the quickest Funny Car pass ever down the quarter-mile. Whit Bazemore cracked off a 4.750 pass in the second round.
San Francisco, CA (September 25, 2001) - RussWicks.com was a sponsor of the Society for Internet Advancement San Francisco Red, White and Blue Benefit. In response to the recent tragedies in New York and Washington D.C, the SIASF dedicated the event to raise money to benefit the New York Firefighters fund. www.SIASF.org

Seattle, WA (September 18, 2001) - Russ was the guest speaker for the Mount Rainier Chapter of the National Society of Professional Engineers. Russ gave a brief history of the world water speed record, the personalities, and technology involved. He described how the American Challenge team is approaching the coordination, organizational, technical, and financial activities in their attempt at breaking the record.
